Santa Cruz Daniel Compton wins MMA fight at Tuff-N-Uff 130 in Las Vegas ( News Hawaii )
Santa Cruz’s Daniel Compton defeated Hawaii’s Alfonso Pitolo at Tuff-N-Uff 130 at the Circa Galaxy Ballroom in Las Vegas on Saturday.
After defeating Compton by submission in the third round, he left the octagon to confront Pitoli’s fans sitting in the cage. Pandemonium ensued, and the public address announcer asked the crowd to leave the premises immediately.
Mmanews.com reported that it was unclear if penalties were issued for the brawl after the fight.
Compton (7-2-0) has won four straight fights and is ranked No. 7 in the California Tapology Pro Men’s Middleweight rankings. He ranks 20th in the West Pro and 77th in the US
Alfonso Pitolo (15-10), who competes in Hawaii, previously competed in the UFC and Warrior MMA.

Santa Cruz Turkey Trot: Santa Cruz’s Julian Sunn and Rebecca Patena win the 10k race at the 2022 Santa Cruz Turkey Trot on Saturday.
The race began and ended on Delaware Street, by the back entrance to Natural Bridge.
Sunn finished in 34:45. Santa Cruz’s Alexander Wallach took second in 35:53, and Albany’s Zachary Lorimann (36:01) took third.
Patena was the fastest woman, seventh overall in 38:57. Santa Cruz’s Mackenzie Deeter (39:37) and Simone Ange Winkler (41:16) rounded out the top three for the women.
Redwood City’s Chris Charekien (16:34) edged Santa Cruz’s Benthan Vu (16:34) for the title in the 5k race, pictured. Peter Meunier of Santa Cruz (17:06) took third.
Santa Cruz’s Valerie Thorp (19:34) took 11th overall and was the top female. Santa Cruz’s Sarah Kletzer (20:04) and San Carlos’ Hronn Gudmundsdottir (20:43) rounded out the top three women.
Human basketball
Santa Cruz 72, Caltech 67: Tyler Kessinger scored 15 points and teammate Zino Okah added 14 points in the Slugs’ win at Kaiser Permanente Arena on Sunday.
Avri Finch had 13 points and 15 rebounds for UCSC, and Treyson Keating scored 10 points.
Pavlos Stavrinides and Chase Pagon each scored 14 points to lead the Beavers (1-4).
The Blue Slugs (3-1) play at Menlo (6-2) in Atherton on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
Women’s basketball
UCSC 77, at Col: Amanda Inserra, Lilli Hammons and Talysha Wilkerson each scored 12 points to help the Banana Slugs (5-0) roll to victory Sunday in Vallejo.
Kaylee Murphy had 10 points, 16 rebounds and two blocks, and Ashley Kowack also scored 10 points.
Alicia Porter scored 31 points and nine rebounds to lead the Keelhaulers (0-4), who played with just six players.
The Slugs are scheduled to play at Menlo (4-3) on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m
